Not the world's best photos but it just started to rain, so I had to take the pictures inside. One of the full layout and one close up of the flowers. You can't tell so much that the stripey one is accordion at all, but believe me, it is. I'm really unsure how I'm gonna make it fit in my book now. Oh well...

Details: My and my best friend Brooke posing for pictures in ToonTown in Disneyland. Circa October 2005 (heck I just may finish this book in my lifetime!).
Details
Size: 12x12
The paper: (stripes and dogs) Doodlebug, (the sparkly bones) Cloud Nine (I believe, the brand/bar code was an edge I trimmed off - I got it at JoAnn's), (mat paper) Bazzil
The embellishments: (the Pluto and the two dog tags) Jolees, (the "best" and "friends") MAMBI Soft Spoken
The letters: are brown foam Thickers (with Stickles)
Other: (Dog Pound 3-D embellishment) eBay

Another layout

scrapbooking is hazardous

This one is not quite done. It still needs journaling, and I think a flower. I've got to come up with an appropriate match to the paper. I might have more of that style of paper with bigger flowers... that would be ideal.
scrapbooking is hazardous

This has been a work in progress for awhile. The picture was taken in December of 2007, I started working on the layout last November, and just got around to finishing it last weekend. I'm not entirely happy with it (it's not what I was picturing), but I'm glad to have finally finished something... it's been awhile!

I actually completed the layout!!!

Brooke and I went scrapbooking this past Monday and I actually used my groovy Cowboy Crunchies pic! I know, crazy! I think this is one of those times where the embellishment kinda eclipses the rest of the layout, but I don't care. I'm just so super proud of it!!!
(oh, and dotted swiss is awesome!!)

Needed It, It Didn't Exist, So I Made It!

Okay, so you know from my previous post(s) that I scrapbook. Yesterday morning, I woke up to a layout in my mind. All I needed was a cereal box!
Lemme back up. See my best friend Brooke, and I went to Disneyland in 2005. We did California Adventure too, and while going through a Bug's Land, we stopped and took pictures in the cereal box between the Fun Faire and whatever the other side is called. In order to do the layout I had in my mind, I needed a picture of the cereal box standing up. Did it exist?! Well I tour of the internet found a very small and incomplete picture
(that's blown up and zoomed in).
Dilemma... :(
Do I did what any crazy person with extra time on their hands would do. I made my own. And here's the result:

So how cool is that?!?! I'm so proud of it and I had to share. I wasn't sure if any of the scrapbooking communities would appreciate it, so I figured I'll share it with myself! Yay!!!

Scrapbooking

Hunchback
I've been a part of livejournal for a couple years now, but I don't really use it for blogging, or even networking. I read a few different scrapbooking, gossip, book and music journals, but I don't really participate. I've been trying to be better about that, so that's going to include posting a journal entry of my own every once in awhile. :)

Now I know the most likely of all journals I'm going to reply to, will most definitely be scrapbooking ones, and something I see all the time on the scrapbooking journals is the intro. Now I've been a member for so long, I don't feel right about posting an intro. So I'll put it here and feel better about myself!

1. What is your name? Tanya

2. What country do you live in? USA

3. How long have you been scrapbooking for? All my life I've saved "stuff". Photo collages to slide into my binder in jr. To put on my wall. I didn't really start putting it into books, until my senior year of high school (which was 1995!!! - ugh!). I really started calling it "scrapbooking" in 2000 when I made two 3-inch binders about a trip to Disney World. The scrapping is definitely of that time, but it's still fun to look at.

4. Do you suscribe to any scrapping magazines? If so, which ones? Creating Keepsakes, Scrapbooks etc. and Simple Scrapbooks.

5. What is your favorite scrapbooking website? Twopeasinabucket.com I'm not a participant really but I love to look at the galleries

6. Where do you like to buy your supplies? A local scrapbook store call Scrapbook Nook, but they tend to be overpriced. I'm really good at spending lots of money there. I also buy at JoAnns (it's a mile down the street and they send regular coupons!), Michaels (good for some things, but they're usually sold out of the one thing you go there for!), and Target/Walmart (both have a decent selection - somethings you can't really find elsewhere). Of course there's also online shopping. I'm quite partial to scrapyourtrip.com (I spend a small fortune on a regular basis) and of course eBay! (home of Jolee's lots, combined shipping, and the paper that everyone else is sold out of)

7. Anything else you think that we might need to know? My style is pretty basic. I like paper (*cough*paperwhore*cough*) and sparkly stuff. I'm better at buying supplies than using them. I tend to scrap big ocassions or trips rather than the everyday stuff, or the totally posed pictures.

8. Please post pictures of some of your layouts! Golly the only stuff I have is in my photobucket. I'll have to figure out how to link to that.

to renew or not to renew

Keanu D'Oh!
I've got a little more than a week to decide if I'm going to renew my livejournal membership. Sure it's kinda cool being a "paid" member, and getting the extra user icons, but I don't use livejournal as much as other people I see. I don't collect friends on here. I'm more of a visitor and contributor to conversations. I'm still thinking about it, though I really should get a move on if I'm going to keep it up.

sick...

I've been trying to shake this cold for a few weeks now. I've already missed two days of work (2 weeks ago) but I still feel sick. I hate going to the doctors though, so that makes the whole thing kinda yucky. I think some of it is a little bit of allergies (because I get the same sinus/cough thing at this time EVERY year), but today I just feel run down, which kinda makes me think that it's more than allergies. I think I'm going to bed early tonight.
I will help with the "sickness" but it will also prepare me for the fact that I need to be at work at 7:15 am (which will feel like 6:15, which means I have to leave at 6:00 which will feel like 5:00 am, which in turn means I have to get up at 5:00, which will feel like 4:00... ugh!)

Big plans...

bubble bath
So I'm looking for a new camera case (and possibily a new camera - though who knows because I haven't decided if I like the one I bought for Christmas - though maybe I could make a better decision if I bothered to take the camera out of it's box!). I just found out today that I've been invited to DisneyWorld this December. 316 days to go. I'll be going with Brooke for a 12 day adventure all over DisneyWorld. We're going to be there so long, that we'll actually need to purchase annual passes, becauses it's actually cheaper than purchasing parkhopper passes... Can you imagine?! I'm not quite sure I've accepted it as real yet. I mean, there's so much to do! I've got to request the time off work. We have to find airfare. I have to pay off my credit cards (so I can charge them back up!) I think I can safely say my tax return is already spoken for... squee!

i suck...

  • Jan. 11th, 2007 at 10:30 PM
you suck
I suck at this stuff... I can't even keep up with my myspace (which is a really odd sentence - in fact, having any conversation about myspace is often very difficult or awkward sounding... "your myspace"? that's like a contradiction in terms... anyway). I was really good for awhile, posting almost everything, but then the holidays hit and I quit (ha, I'm a poet!). Anyway, I just had to take a moment, because even though I've been bad about my myspace *shudder* I've been HORRIBLE about posting to my livejournal (now that sentence makes more sense)... So, I do exist. I do post to different communities. I just don't update my own personal journal... Sorry. :(

suck at keeping this updated...

I'm starting to get the hang of this... kinda. I've learned a couple simple lj cuts (if that's what they're called). I've posted a few times to some of the communities. It's going okay...

I'm totally new to this, and I'm not even sure what this is going to look like. Heck I'm so dumb about this I can't even credit my userpics correctly (sorry to the people I've snagged them from - your name is there, I just can't get the link to work - but I'll keep trying). So, in an attempt to make this space look like more than someone who joined to ask dumb questions and not contribute anything, I thought I'd type this to explain myself. Wish me luck while I try to figure this out!!!
